Procedures for overseas players joining Australian bands
Australian bands registering players from an overseas jurisdiction will now be required to provide proof of clearance before the player is registered with that band and eligible to compete.
The additional step for registration of players from overseas will strengthen Australia’s already robust registration system.
Proof of clearance additionally ensures Australia continues to respect international jurisdictions with which it has agreements and alliances to advance piping and drumming around the world.
Bands seeking guidance on the registration and clearance system of Pipe Bands Australia can contact the registrar by email firstname.lastname@example.org
Bands and players are reminded that under Pipe Bands Australia rules and regulations, a player must be registered 14 clear days before a competition. Bands competing overseas are reminded the check with the relevant jurisdiction requirements for player registration period, including the RSPBA where recent changes have an extended qualifying period for players transferring from a higher graded band.
