Four Australian bands prepare for the Worlds
Pipe Bands Australia has extended best wishes to the four Australian bands competing in the World Championships in Glasgow and other lead-up contests on the Scottish circuit in August.
The Australian bands entered for the Worlds at Glasgow Green on 12 August are:
The Pipeband Club from Sydney and St Andrew’s Pipe Band from Brisbane in Grade 2;
Governor Macquarie Memorial Pipe Band (formerly Hawkesbury Nepean) in Grade 3A; and
Scots School Albury in Grade 4A
Players in these bands have made a significant sacrifice both in preparing musically for the trip and raising funds to make their tours possible. Their commitment is to be applauded.
PBA wishes the band well as our ambassadors on the international stage in 2017.
