Entries for the 2019 Australian Solo Piping Championships in Adelaide next month close on Monday, 18 March.
The championships are being promoted by Pipe Bands South Australia in association with the RU Brown Piobaireachd Society that will also be holding the nation’s premier Piobaireachd events on the weekend of 13 and 14 April.
The branch and RU Brown Society with assistance from sponsors and Pipe Bands Australia is offering significant prizemoney in all grades for the light music championship and Piobaireachd events. Trophies are also be given to winners with a focus on events encouraging young players in the early years of their solo competition careers.
Competitors are reminded that they must enter their principal grade per their respective Pipe Band Association (solo) Grading. All competitors must wear highland dress, including a Glengarry or Balmoral. Ladies will be permitted to wear traditional ladies’ dress.
Heading the adjudicators for the 2019 championships is Robert Wallace of Scotland.
