The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (REMT)
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is extremely proud to support a number of military charities and
associated institutions. REMT is a not-for-profit organisation, and every year their ticket sales support many organisations including Pipe Band communities throughout the world.
How to be involved
To be part of the ICB, the only thing you need to do is to purchase a ticket to the show in which you want to perform. Your involvement is completely self-funded, but this ticket will allow you to be able to sit with your fellow band members in a specially reserved seating bank, post your performance.
We are thrilled that Australian Pipers and Drummers have been offered an opportunity to have this once in a lifetime experience.
We hope to get as many Pipers and Drummers as possible to be a part of the opening parade sequence and play either as full bands, part bands or as individuals - to lead the Clans and Families into the stadium and welcome the Salute Taker at the start of each evening.
We envisage everyone coming together at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park during the
afternoon of the performance for which tickets have been purchased, meet up with the other Pipers and Drummers also participating in that performance, be briefed by the Tattoo staff, tune up and rehearse together, and get ready for the parade into the stadium. After the opening performance,Pipers and Drummers will be then be able to relax and enjoy the show (secure storage arrangements will be provided for instruments).
The music that will be played by the ICB as a massed band will be chosen by the Army School ofBagpipe Music and Highland Drumming in Edinburgh, Scotland, however, will be selected from the Pipe Bands Australia massed band repertoire, incorporating Australian settings for both pipe and drum scores.
