Online Competition Success

Pipe Bands Australia congratulates all its members who have recently participated in international online piping and drumming competitions.

These competitions, conducted by businesses or bands, add to the opportunities available online for our members during the COVID-19 restrictions that continue to make it difficult for our bands to practice and perform.

We particularly acknowledge those players who have been awarded prizes in these competitions and the support and encouragement of their bands, schools and tutors.

In one competition, Australia came out as the most successful country (band association) due to the number and quality of playing by our pipers and drummers.

Among them were the following section winners:

  • Grade 2 Tenor: Indyana Bridgman
  • Grade 3 Snare: Damon Wright
  • Grade 4 Tenor: Tegan Forge and Lily Turner equal 1st
  • Grade 5 Tenor: Emma Delbridge Beginner Tenor: Jonathon Cotter

All are students from Scots School Albury.

Our players are encouraged to continue participating in online performance and learning opportunities. Recent online workshops presented by Pipe Bands Australia for piping and drumming can now be viewed on the education and training section of our website or the PBA Youtube channel.
