The Council recently considered amendments to the current regulations surrounding the Drum Major solo event.

A trial rule was approved that firstly introduces a Juvenile grade event, and secondly changes the length of the course marched by competitors. 

This trial rule provides for, and with immediate effect, the course for the adult Drum Major event to be 4.5 laps of a 50-meter course and the new Juvenile event is to be conducted over 2.5 laps. 

These changes will bring our competition more closely in line with the RSPBA events. 

A Ballot of Bands will be conducted in due course so these changes can be considered for formal implementation in the contest regulations.
