VP75 – Thank You

Pipe Bands Australia thanks all pipers and drummers across Australia and our friends in North America, Britain and Europe who participated in the VP75 commemoration.

We were pleased that Mark Saul accepted our invitation to compose a new tune for the occasion. Mark’s tune has received many favourable comments from the musicians who practised and performed VP75 – Lest We Forget, with many describing it as a beautiful tune.

Performances ranged from solo pipers to small groups, full bands and the special video prepared by our premier band Western Australia Police.

Locations ranged from front yards to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra and overseas, war memorials and cemeteries.

Pipe Bands Australia again acknowledges the support and encouragement of the Federal Government and the involvement of so many who negotiated various COVID-19 social restrictions to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War Two.

Thank you.
