The City of Blacktown Pipe Band has been Blacktown’s pipe band since 1985. Formerly the St John’s Ambulance Pipes and Drums, the band has been a part of the Blacktown community since 1975. Over the years the band has represented Blacktown on the national and international stage in both competition and in support of major performing artists. Members of the band regularly participate in Military Tattoos in Australia and overseas, including the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland.
The band has recently returned to competition in Grade 4B with a view to moving up the grades in the future. We are constantly on the lookout for competent players and run our own learner program for those interested in taking up Highland Piping or Drumming.
