Old Scotch Pipes & Drums (OSPD) was established in Melbourne in 2009 when several former Scotch College students came together to resurrect their musical skills in a friendly and enthusiastic pipe band environment.
OSPD now includes members from beyond the Old Scotch fraternity and welcomes all those who share a passion for playing pipe band music and contributing to the growth of the band. OSPD competes at Grade 4A level with recent successes including 2nd place at the 2022 Victorian Championships, 4th place at the 2022 Australian Pipe Band Championships and winning the grade in consecutive years at the Canberra Burns Club Highland Games and at the 2022 Daylesford Highland Gathering.
We also participate in the support of a number of charitable organisations and community events around the state. OSPD is planning to continue developing the musical standard of our band and to seek opportunities to travel and compete nationally and internationally, and above all, to celebrate the camaraderie, fun and enjoyment of band membership.
