Scott Wallace joins Summer School team
Joining the piping tutor team for Pipe Bands Australia Summer School in January is Scott Wallace
has been piping since he was 14, he started his piping career with Drumlough Pipe Band under tuition from Pipe Major Lexie Burrows, he moved on to Ballycoan Pipe Band for the 2008 and 2009 seasons before joining St Laurence O'toole Pipe Band from Dublin in 2010 where he and the band enjoyed winning the European and World titles in Grade 1.
Scott now plays with the world renowned Field Marshal Montgomery from Northern Ireland where he has enjoyed the success of every major Grade 1 title including 4 World Championships.
Scott has had some notable solo success in recent years including 1st place Overall in C Grade at London 2009, 1st Place overall Kingdom Thistle 2011, All Ireland Champion 2012, 2 time winner of WA States and 1st place MSR Victoria States 2016, he has also been a prize winner at the RU Brown in Adelaide.
Scott has played on stage with some of the world’s most renowned folk musicians including Carlos Nunez in The National Concert Hall in Dublin as part of the St. Patrick's Festival and with The Chieftain’s at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast.
Scott is a keen composer of contemporary music and is in the process of completing a book of his compositions which he hopes to have available in early 2017.
Scott is the Pipe Sergeant of Western Australia Police and has enjoyed success with the band at the Australian National Pipe Band championships winning both 2014 and 2016 titles.
He receives regular solo tuition from Pipe Major James Murray.
His biggest influences on his piping career have been Pipe Major Lexie Burrows, Pipe Major Richard Parkes MBE and Pipe Major James Murray.
