Australian contingent at South Pacific Championships
Pipe Bands Australia extends best wishes to Australian contingent at the 2017 New Zealand and South Pacific Pipe Bands Championships being held in Nelson on 10 and 11 March.
Knox Grammar School will be flying the flag for Australia in the Grade 4 and Juvenile events of the championships.
Joining the adjudication panel this year will be Sam Young (pictured) in ensemble, Greg Bassani drumming and Tony Bidgood dress and drill.
The South Pacific Championships are held on rotation between Australia and New Zealand every three years in conjunction with that country’s championships and demonstrate the close co-operation in the promotion of pipe band performance between Pipe Bands Australia and the Royal New Zealand Pipe Band Association.
Tony Bidgood, who is Principal Dress and Drill with the Australian Pipe Band College, will also be the official representative of Pipe Bands Australia at the South Pacific Championships this year.
