New player registration rule for bands heading to Scotland
Pipe Bands Australia has been advised that the RSPBA, at its annual general meeting on the weekend, voted to adopt a new rule that applies a 42-day period before contests on bands registering players transferring from a higher grade.
The existing 14-day period remains for players moving between bands in the same grade
The new rule applies to all bands competing in RSPBA competitions, including those from other recognised associations in the world.
Pipe Bands Australia has distributed to branch secretaries the Supplemental Roster form being used by the RSPBA and home associations for player registrations at RSPBA competitions.
The RSPBA has advised it is using the form as a way of ensuring that the home association has checked the band’s players are registered to play with that band.
