Long-service award for Gary Webb
Vice-Principal Drumming Tasmania Gary Webb has been recognised for his service to the movement in the state with a Pipe Bands Australia 50-year service certificate.
Fellow Tasmanian and national management committee member Tony Bidgood made the presentation at the branch meeting this week.
Gary first played drums with the Derwent Scottish Pipe Band in 1956 and has been long-regarded as one of Australia's most gifted snare drummers.
Not content with that, Gary went on to learn pipes and is currently Pipe Major of his beloved Derwent Scottish, Tasmanian Vice-Principal of Drumming and organises the Tasmanian Winter Solo and Miniband Competitions.
Gary is also a life member of Pipe Bands Australia.
