Our Aussie bands at Edinburgh Tattoo
Pipe Bands Australia extends best wishes to four Australian bands for their final preparations ahead of appearing in the 2017 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
In just over a month’s time, members of Australian Federal Police, NSW Police, Royal Caledonian Society of South Australia and Scots School Albury will be in Edinburgh for rehearsals before undertaking more than 25 performances of the Tattoo in August.
NSW Police Pipe Band was one of the first Australian bands to perform at the Tattoo when all Australian police pipe bands ventured to Edinburgh in 1975 while this will be the first appearance for Scots School.
AFP has previously appeared on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle while for the Royal Caledonian Society, it will be a return Britain after last year performing at the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations and in the REMT in Melbourne.
There are also a number of Australians selected in the Pipers Trail which will form two files in this year’s Tattoo massed pipes and drums.
