Future face of education and training
A three-month consultation period will allow bands and branches the opportunity to help shape the future face of education and training initiatives of Pipe Bands Australia for the next three years.
National councillors considered an interim report on options to support educational pathways of players, bands and adjudicators at their recent biennial conference.
The report canvassed supporting existing initiatives and introducing new models for engagement in all branches.
Submissions will be received by 31 December and are to be forwarded to the secretary (firstname.lastname@example.org). Simultaneously, Australian Pipe Band College principals will be further reviewing the options paper and considering submissions as they are received before making final recommendations.
Conference also discussed the future of summer school that returned in 2017 after a brief hiatus, deciding to cancel summer school which is an option in the discussion paper now open for submissions form bands and branches.
College principals have also been instructed by council to review options for expanding the PBA presence in online education including introduction of online examination for lower level certiﬁcates, Skype lessons, instructional videos and other programs be referred to college for review and recommendation.
